Bachelorette weekends are short and dense. You're changing more often than on a normal trip, sharing a bathroom with several people, and going straight from a pool to a dinner reservation with an hour in between.
The list below is built around that reality. Pack by occasion, not by day.
Before you pack: three questions
- What's actually on the itinerary? A boat day, a spa afternoon and a club night all need different things. Get the plan before you pack.
- Is there a dress code for any night? Matching white, a colour theme, or a restaurant with a smart policy. Confirm early.
- Are you sharing anything? Straighteners, speakers, a steamer — coordinate so you don't arrive with four of the same.
Clothing, by occasion
Daytime
- Two daytime outfits per full day — the sun one and the after-shower one
- A pair of shorts or a light skirt
- One relaxed dress you can throw on over swim
- A comfortable top for travel and mornings
- Something with sleeves for a cold restaurant or car
Dinner
- One dinner outfit per night, plus one spare
- A dress or elevated set that doesn't crease in a suitcase
- One neutral you can restyle if plans change
- A light jacket, blazer or wrap — restaurants are always colder than the street
Going out
- The main going-out outfit
- A second, in case of a spill, weather or a change of venue
- The theme outfit, if the group has one — check the colour with the organiser
- A small bag you can dance with, crossbody or wristlet
Pool and beach
- Two swimsuits, so one is always dry
- A cover-up or kaftan that works walking through a hotel lobby
- A straw or beach bag
- Sunglasses and a hat
- Reef-safe sunscreen and after-sun
- A packable towel, if the accommodation doesn't provide pool towels
Activities
- Workout or activewear, if there's a class, hike or bike day
- Trainers, if any activity involves standing or walking
- A layer for a boat — it's colder on the water than on land
- Something you don't mind ruining, for anything involving paint, wine or a beach bonfire
Shoes
Three pairs is usually right; four is the maximum
- One heel or dressy sandal for dinner and going out
- One flat sandal or slide for daytime
- One trainer for travel and activities
- Optional: a second heel in a different colour, only if you have space
- Blister plasters, packed with the shoes rather than the toiletries
Beauty
- Full base: primer, foundation or tint, concealer, setting powder or spray
- Bronzer, blush, highlighter
- Eye products and a spare mascara
- Two lip colours — a day one and a night one
- Makeup remover wipes or micellar water and cotton pads
- Skincare: cleanser, moisturiser, SPF, eye cream
- Face masks and under-eye patches for the morning after
- A small mirror, in case the bathroom is shared and busy
Hair
- Straightener or curling iron — coordinate with the group so there's one or two, not five
- A travel adapter and voltage check if you're going abroad
- Dry shampoo, texture spray and hairspray in travel sizes
- Brush, comb, clips, elastics, bobby pins
- Hair oil or leave-in for chlorine, salt water and heat
- A silk scrunchie and a claw clip
- Extensions or clip-ins, if you wear them, plus the right brush
Toiletries
- Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss
- Deodorant
- Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in travel sizes, unless the hotel provides them
- Razor
- Period products — bring them regardless of your cycle
- Hand sanitiser and hand cream
- Contact lenses, solution and a spare pair of glasses
Medication and personal essentials
- All prescription medication in its original packaging, in your carry-on
- Pain relief, antacids and anti-nausea tablets
- Electrolyte sachets — the single most useful thing in a bachelorette bag
- Antihistamines
- Plasters and blister plasters
- Anything you personally always need and can't buy easily at the destination
Tech and chargers
- Phone charger and a spare cable
- Portable power bank, charged before you leave
- Travel adapter for the destination
- Headphones
- Camera, if someone's bringing one, plus the charger
- A small speaker, if the group hasn't already assigned one
Travel and documents
- ID or passport, and a photo of it saved separately
- Boarding passes and accommodation confirmations, downloaded offline
- Two payment methods, stored in different places
- Some local cash for tips and taxis
- Travel insurance details
- A folding tote for the way home
- A laundry or wet bag for swim and worn clothes
Bride-specific
- The white or theme outfits, if the group has planned them
- Anything sashes, veils or accessories the group has organised — someone should own this list
- A dress for the nicest dinner of the trip
- Comfortable shoes for the day everyone underestimates
- A small bag for gifts or cards she's given during the weekend
- Her own quiet hour built into the itinerary. Not packable, but essential.
Just in case
- Fashion tape and safety pins
- A mini sewing kit
- Stain remover pen
- Nail file and clear polish for tights and snags
- A spare pair of earrings backs
- Ear plugs and an eye mask, if you're sharing a room
What to leave at home
- The fourth pair of heels.
- Anything you'd be upset to lose — expensive jewellery, sentimental pieces.
- Full-size bottles of anything.
- The 'maybe' outfit you can't picture yourself actually wearing.
If you're the one organising, how to plan a bachelorette weekend covers budgets, the guest list and the itinerary. Honeymoon next? The honeymoon packing list is built on the same structure with longer trips in mind.
